when plugged up to electricity, your chargers will only charge the house batteries, unless your aux battery switch is pressed to the left.

This switch has three positions. left-chassis and house batteries are linked together. Middle=charges only the house batteries and will not use the house batteries to start the engine. Right= links the chassis and house batteries only as long as you hold down on the switch.

on my sp it is a momentary switch and it will not stay in the both position

can i get a 3 way and do this or ??????????????????

mine charges the house also and the engine batts are charged by the engine

I don't know when the change occured, but it sounds like our earlier coaches only had one battery bank, and a generator battery. The later coaches had the 3 way switch. I'm guessing that most of the older coaches were modified with the 2 differenet house/chassis configeration, resulting in not being able to easily "merge" the 2 banks.

Your '87 is the same as my '90, and the way Woody described the charging system
is the way it works. Mine was changed to one inverter/charger before I owned it.
Might be the way to go, if you think you are having problems. Just make sure it is
large enough for the coach.
