Does anyone know who manufactures the whole house water filter installed on M-380's? Mine has a blue "bowl" which I failed to empty water out of when I winterized and now the bottom is blown out. It is blue and mounted in the water/plumbing bay.

I believe it was made by Cuno. It is easy enough to replace and should be availble at any plumbing supply house. The spec is proably in the owners book. I will look in mine and let you know.

I would screw the bad one out of the housing and take it to any of the big box stores and I'll bet they have a replacement that would fit. I replace my filters with several different brands depending on what is available. By replacing the container alone you would not have to do any plumbing.

Doug,
I know they didn't teach this at Auburn. ;^) Just kidding. Take a look at Lowes. While I am not familiar what they installed in the M380, chances are its the typical such as found at Lowes or Home Depot..... John

Thanks for the replys! Doug, you've got me on the right track with the manufacturer "Cuno". I've been to Camping World, Home Depot, Lowes and not been able to find a compatable housing or one with a matching screw pattern on the head.
I plan on going to Ferguson's Plumbing Supply next week. I talked with Cuno and they seem to think a Model AP801 will work. Does anyone know what model these things are? I've gone through every booklet and manual I have and can't find anything at all about these filters.

Doug,
If you don't find it somewhere else you might try Atlanta Fixture.

Worse case...just swap the complete filter housing with one that is readily available and probably more economical.

Thanks to everyone for you input and help - that even includes John!
Just in case anyone else might need to replace this unit I found it at Freshwatersystems.com located in Greenville, SC. It is the exact same item. Again, thanks to eveyone.

Just to put in my 2 cents worth-----(Probably what it's worth).
The original water filter in my M-380 was a carbon filter and the wash cloths would get progressively darker with use until they were almost black. I had the filter changed when the coach was in for service. It didn't help. I was afraid of using the washer and I was beginning to fear the outcome of taking regular showers. Finally I took the filter element out, went to Lowe's, matched it up with a quality non-carbon filter element and now the wash rags stay white and I no longer am afraid to use the washer and no longer fear the outcome of a regular shower. I got a pack of two filters and if anyone's interested in the brand and numbers just say so and I'll dig out the spare and let you know. P.S. I went to AUBURN too John. Also, where are we going to meet up since "The Nest" is no more? . "WAR EAGLE" John Carroll M-380 Fayetteville, GA |
