Default Sticky Pressure switch?

Hi All,

I am new here, and very excited to learn all about this forum. Please forgive me if I ask stupid things or look like the newbie that I am as I get acclimated.

I have a 12.5Kw PowerTech generator in my 97 BMC. When I shut off the generator, the engine stops but the fuel pump, timer and green light stay on for hours until they eventually turn off. It is racking up massive hours on my clock and taxing the gen set battery running the fuel pump. I believe I traced the problem to what I am assuming is an oil pressure switch, which is probably all gummed up.

Question: Where in the world can I get a replacement switch? There are no obvious markings on it, and I don’t know where to begin looking for this part. I am assuming it is cheap enough to replace rather than mess with trying to clean it? It is an Isuzu, 1.5L 3 Cyl engine. I guess any resources for generator consumables would be great! Thanks , Steve

Sounds like stuck pressure switch , it usually runs the hour meter, fuel pump, take it to a NAPA parts store or maybe Carquest, they will match it.

Hi Steve,

We are glad to have you on the forum, there are no stupid questions asked here, so just fire away. You can most likely get that part direct from Powertech, here is where to find that info Wanderlodge Owners Group > Links, Files, Old Yahoo Forum Database and Downloads > Links > Powertech Generators Factory Info. This information is contained in and scattered throughout some posts, but I just added a link to their web site today.

Steve,

When you go to a parts store always find the oldest Guy in the store. They resemble Rob , Finn or McGinnis . Just check the thread match, they usually close the switch at about 4 psi. they are used on lots of vehicles, tractors, mowers, boats, etc. there are several manufacturers
