Jonathon,

The engine in the BMC is basically the same set up as Woody put in his SP. It is an 8.3 Liter, four stroke, 6 cylinder turbo charged, intercooled engine with a side radiator. It is on a Spartan Chassis. Max boost on a stock engine is about 24 lbs, I think. The Banks stinger kicks that up to about 28-29 lbs. In addition, with the Banks you get a turbo boost and an exhaust temp gauge.

I may not be the best answer for mileage as everybody seems to do better than me. I seem to spend a lot of time climbing mountain passes here in California in order to get where I want to go. Last trip had two mountain passes each way. (So I climbed four times) I got 7.3 MPG for the 1,000 miles. I also used the Banks Power over the hills. (Grin) The 150 gallon tank even at 7.3 MPG will get me a ways before a fill up is required.

Keep looking and learning, I was looking and deciding which model Blue Bird I wanted for years before I could buy one. I looked at busses, Newell, Safari, and other SOBs before I decided the Blue Bird line up was for me and forums like this are what helped the decision.

Good luck,

Good luck,
Thanks for the info. I've already been looking at them for 2-3 years now. I already know I want the Bird. I've been hanging out on these forums for a LONG time now and I know a lot about them - just no practical experience. For me, its just a matter of getting our finances back in order so I can buy.
