Default Goona Be, 5240 Paid Hours, God Willing.

Made the decision, mid-August, 2012. Bought a 1978 FC35SB. Have to bring it home yet, to the Great White North, and I have already spent about $52,000 (in my mind). I have one of the finest touring motorcycles in the world IMHO, and it was only fitting that I purchase one of the finest Motor Coaches in the world. Our plan, such as it is, includes finishing the 20 year long addition/remodelling of my home, fine tuning a smaller rental property, selling both and then finding a suitable plan B for the inevitable end of our riding/touring career. Sounds good to me. I look forward to watching this particular forum as well all the others here. We won't be joining the Fulltimers website yet (Before I owned a BMW I was cheap, now I'm frugal), but it is on the agenda. We will be keeping the new Bird at home till retirement strikes. The next 2 years or so will be shared between the homes, the Bird and long distance touring when the "W" word permits.
So far so good, right? Summers in Canada, winters in climates more conducive to motorcycle touring, using the Bird as a home base down south and abandoning same bird when weather and roads permit a northern return. How are we doing so far? We intend to utiliize the new found wealth of information available here to aid us in our dream. Hang on for the ride if you like, it should be interesting. Lynn and Glenn.

Glen... sounds like a plan... I actually went to line and downloaded a count down clock and put my target date in it... it would count down to the seconds... I have a video of it going to all 00:00:00's... what a great feeling... good luck and safe travels

111 days to go and I can't wait. Countdown timer is running on my laptop and whenever anyone sees me at work they don't say 'good morning', they ask 'how many days"? I always respond wiht a big smile, only now I am starting to add the remaining hours in the current day just for fun. (I wouldn't start that practice too soon, your employer might not appreciate it).

My countdown timer on my company laptop ran into the 'blue screen of death'. All of my stuff from work is non-recoverable. But so what, six weeks and I go on vacation pretty much till the end, May 16. I just hope no one asks for any of the supporting documentation related to what I did for the last ten years. That's my story and i'm sticking to it!

P.S.
I back up my home system(s) daily.

Glenn:
With the weather so good up here, you might not have to go south, maybe further north LOL.
