Hi Don,

That looks good and please just call me John.Try looking for that backup light relay in the bedroom overhead cabinets, the relays in mine are located in a small section that is divided from the rest of the cabinet by a small partition, behind the same door, but some of the other fuses are located behind a separate individual overhead cabinet, that is shorter than the main cabinet door, or they are like this, check out the top left picture in this article TAILLIGHT RELAY UPGRADE you can see a small cover that is at the far end of the curb side bedroom cabinet in my 'Bird, look for places like this to possibly find the source of your wires, relays and/or fuses for the backup lights.

One thing that you find out about a Wanderlodge, is they sure did like to use a lot of wire and relays especially on the older ones. Last Year while I was touring the factory during the remodeling, I met this guy;

He actually assembled the wiring loom on all of the 1982 'Birds on this board;

I asked him if by chance he had recently felt his ears burning.....................because I had been frustrated when I was tracing wires on my 'Bird and I wasn't referring to him, or the engineer that designed the wiring in such a good manner

Good luck and keep us posted on any progress, or more questions.

Default Rear Lights 82 BB

Thanks John,
I got them fixed. Come to find out it must have been the contacts on the shifter again,(like when I had the problem starting the bird) I mest with the shifter and found the relays in the back bedroom as well.

Just to let all know I took the Bird out for a drive to the DMV,( and Fuel) she passed with no problems. Boy what a "wanderfull" thing these are. Stuff that did not, or i thought did not work,Like the steps started working. I thought I had to replace some parts on the old girl. Anyway have a great day. Thanks again Don
