Randy,
I guess I was spoiled when I heard Tom Warners old coach. The generator was very quiet, all I could hear was the fan. But it sounds like that is the exception. Soundproofing seems to be the answer. Like in my old cars in my youth, if it made bad noises, turning up the stereo usually cured it.

Randy,
You've just got them hooked on junk food!! They'll shut up after a while with the "real" thing!!!!! Though as long as they're not getting fat, you're probably okay!! Just watch out if they get a lawyer (re: the NY's suing BurgerKing for making them fat)!!!!!

Yep the Visa, explosion , but this is a fun hobby,
And attention to detail pays off.

Gardner one thing I plan to do to my generator is add Shane Fedelis modification he put on his, a coolant thermostat that controls the fan. His stays off until a preset temperature you set is met and then the fan comes on for a minute or so and then shuts off. Its great and I highly recommend it.

The type of insulation you add to the compartment in my opinion is very important. I installed 1" 2# per sq ft dual density foam with a loaded mass vinyl barrier and aluminum heat face. I put it on by spraying both the foam and the generator walls with 3M Super 77 adhesive. The stuff really sticks.

good luck
