The LX has fewer bells and such. Not as many gauges, switches, lights or feet. Cummins ISM engine while the I has the Detroit. We have the LX and like it just fine.

Didn't BlueBird start production of Wide Body's beginning in '88? I only remember reading that the older narrow body's have chrome bumpers and all the Wide Body's have painted ones.

To the first, yes, but they also made narrow body 88s.

To the second, as is typical there are exceptions. Narrow bodies had chromed steel bumpers. 91 and later wide bodies had painted fiberglass bumpers. 88-90 wide bodies had heavy aluminum bumpers, some of which were painted (black are all that I have seen) and some were chromed. For a couple of years I thought Blue Thunder had steel bumpers, but somebody here in 2008 or so pointed out that it was chromed aluminum, not steel.
