Default BMC leveling jack oil

Hi all
Does anyone happen to know the capacity of the leveling jacks. Looks like the tank is about 2 gal.

Sounds right?...I just make sure my jacks are fully retracted then get the level close to the top...I don't even remember if there is a dipstick or not. If you are re-doing the whole system I'd think 2 gallons would be enough as when the jacks are retracted all the fluid has to fit in the lines and that little tank.

There is a dipstick underneath the reservoir cap.

Not sure myself the quantity. I believe it is Dexron 3 ATF. Is that correct?

Was thinkin of using approved HWH oil. Bit pricey but least i know the oil wont screw up the jack seals

I did not know they used their own oil.

Found it here: https://www.pplmotorhomes.com/parts/...ic-oil_92-8244

The fluid in mine is red and has been since I bought it. Do you know the color of their oil?

When I was at HWH, they added colorless oil to the jacks reservoir. They said Dexron III was fine, which is red. I am guessing, but it would make sense that HWH would use a colorless oil so that leaks would leave less stain on the bay trunk liner material, a good idea.

Mercon III and Dexron III are no longer available, but Mercon or Dexron ATF D/M shows it replaces Mercon except V and VI. Therefore, I would guess that the HWH fluid is probably ATF ordered without the dye.

Sound logical? Still a guess. Maybe someone knows for sure.
