The new search box still doesn't show up on my computer that has IE 9.0.

But... the new search works better on my iPad. On my iPad, the old search page would open over top of the WOG page I was on, but sometimes when I tried to scroll the search overlay, it would scroll the background instead of the overlay. The new page makes scrolling on my iPad better.

Through all of this nothing ever changed on my computer until now. The Google Search bar is thinner like Bill said and at the end it says SEARCH instead of the magnifying glass logo that used to be there. None of it is a big deal to me but just letting you know that something did finally change on mine, when nothing had changed before. And by the way I never use a phone only my laptop, with Chrome.

Default Mixed content?

Could this be a mixed content issue? The site is just using http, but the google cse is using https. I tried all kinds of "trusted site" settings and advanced security settings and could not get it to work on IE 11, Windows 10. The search box appears on Firefox 52.5.0 (64-bit) on Windows 10. No trouble with any browser on Debian Linux testing (code name buster).

I don't think so. The link I pointed to for my own page was http, but the secure GCSE box shows up fine in IE11 on that one, at least for me. My site will move to https if you navigate around in it, but you can go into any specific page without security if you choose to.

For what it’s worth, if I view and then save the HTML source code for the home page to my desktop and then launch it from my desktop, the "Google Custom search" does show up on the page that opens. This is with Vista running IE 9.0.59 browser.
