Default Gen-Turi Exhaust Extension

Anyone have any experience with a Gen-Turi Generator Exhaust Extension? Opinions?

http://www.campingworld.com/shopping...t-system/14041

When I bought the bird, it has a extension but it's all 1 big pipe. I'd like to see if I can find something that breaks down for storage. The price on this doesn't seem to be outrageous, especially if it works.

Here is a link to people who have them or are using them.

Camping world seems a little expensive, you can purchase off ebay, amazon or even make one, seems simple enough.

Cut your one long pipe in half (or 1/3's) and get a muffler shop to punch one end so it slides together. Works Great. My exhaust goes through my roof, but I still carry a pipe and elbow. It never fails when lined up side by side at the races, some guy next to you is blowing gen exhaust in your door. He either gets the pipe or a potato plug.

They adapt to a PVC or some other non metal pipe. I have seen them collapse from excessive heat.
I made some for myself & friends - all metal. Cost well under $100. No drilling into coach required for brackets or anchoring. I will try to post a picture or 2. Alternative - send me your direct email - I can send more details and pictures.

Crit & Dan - How did you attach the support pieces to the bus? With the adhesive or did you screw them on?

How long is the Gen-turi? I'm assuming it is long enough to get above the roof of my SP...is this correct?

I have used one for a few years as my generator is a little smokey and it works awesome. It has 3 plastic pieces that slip together and two rubber straps that hold it upright. The straps hook to plastic eyehooks that come with the kit. The hooks are chrome and have 3m tape on the back.

It stays completely cool to the touch. I have taken it apart right after shutting down the Genny; only thing hot is the metal elbow and it's not awful.
