Tell Us Where You're At As you travel around the country, why not take the time to tell our members where you have settled for the night, week, or month. There may be another member close by, that would like to meet you, so put that information right here.

Default BBirdMaps new feature

(also sent as e-mail to registered BBirdMaps members)

John Ely suggested that it would be nice to have members who offer electrical hookups or who are able/willing to offer assistance to other Bird owners highlighted on the BBirdMaps in a color other than yellow.

I agreed that it was a good idea, although it was not particularly simple, since mappoint does not have a method for changing highlight color. I ended up drawing the circles myself, which means they aren't transparent, but that also makes them bolder which is good.

If you want to be shown either way, those options now exist on the location submission form.

Electric hookup will be shown with green highlighting, and Member Help will have cyan highlighting. I did not try to include an option for both, so choose whatever is most appropriate. In either case it would be good to provide some detail in your note, and probably include a phone number.

What is needed is a printable list by state of all members that are willing to provide a place to park, type of hookup, tools if available, substitute driver if needed in an emergency, phone number both house and cell, address.

Then we can print it out and keep it in the coach when travelling. We also need a printable list by state of good repair shops that members use or have checked to print out and keep in the coach.

This may not be by state, but we already have something similar on the forum see;
