According to the FlyingJ web site www.flyingj.com this doesn't seem to be as bad as it first looked like. Check out;

They are citing the decreasing price of oil as one of the factors. Makes me wonder if some of these very companies that service us was behind the futures trading in oil that caused the price of oil to spike so high? And now just the reverse is happening and it is well below $40 a barrel where they say they will starve if the price stays there for long . Lets see they starve if the price of fuel stays low and we starve if the price of fuel stays high? I wonder who will win us maybe?
Just a while ago Flying J cancelled the use of VISA cards for purchase of fuel at its truck stops. I got caught totally by surprise when I stopped to take on fuel last November on my way to Florida.

I hope that all forum members are watching their finances very closely and checking on your free credit reports from the big three reporting agencies. This is extremly important. I am seeing a lot of people that I know that all of a sudden are getting their credit cards cancelled, interest rates drastically increased, and denial of purchases due to the credit crunch. Its getting worse every day. Be prepared for it if you can.

Yeah, cash is KING, for now. I'm waiting for the next round of inflation, hope I'm wrong.
Sure glad I am used to buying my gas with 'dead benjies'.

Flying J is out of one or more grades of fuel at a couple of dozen locations yesterday and today, including being completely out of diesel at the truck pumps in 7 locations. Suppliers unwilling to deliver due to the Chapter 11 filing.

Yeah, all them years of 'growth' and borrowed dinero caught up with 'em. Glad I got over flyin' Jay a couple years back. An adjustment will have to be made for a good bit of the motor home community. Dirty ol' truck stops are in the future, that is until the new powers that be get us all in sweet green technologies. I just can't wait.

Well if you think about it , fiying J and I have the same problem. In early October I filled up at $3.69, broke down, and now I am back on the road. Diesel is down to 2.39 here and lower in other places in the country. If I was selling fuel I would be loosing big time. Flying J, like many other busineses, bought futures contracts at a high prices and now they can't sell the stuff for what they paid. Chapter 11 gets them out from under those contracts and stay in business. Sure am gald I wasn't the guy they bought the futures from!
