Default Summer/Winter Pump

Hi guys. Im helping a buddy of mine with a few things on his 91SP. Today we found that the circulating pump that runs the coolant to the front of the bus for heat was not working. Found a bad relay but the pump is shot too. It is a "Groco cp-20-BB" Anyone know where to get one of these?? Tryed NAPA over the phone and they were lost. Any help would be great. Thanks Tom

Try http://www.tacbusparts.com and go to "heater circulating pumps"

The CP-20BB is currently listed at $160. Was only $152.50 Feb 2007 when I purchased two for my 85 PT40 from them.

I suggest contacting Stephen Birtles.

He's very knowledgeable on these Primus units, and has helped me a great deal.

Here's his email address: stephen at dupreeproducts.com

As for replacing the pump, I would imagine that you could replace it with any 12v continuous duty pump, as long as the flow rate is similar (and the connections fit). Maybe try Grainger for a suitable pump??

Tom

You might also try your local Blue Bird school bus dealer they carry the same pump. It's listed in the Bus Spec catalog as motor, seal kit or impeller, so you might get by with a little less cost.

Default Circulating Pump

Hi Tom,

The Groco pumps are used in marine applications for live-well circulators and in school buses for the rear heater. Any local school bus garage could probably give you a low-cost supplier in your area. Mine have 1" hose fittings. There is also a variation with pipe thread fittings, but ours have a "BB" suffix (Barb-Barb). Here is a photo of mine. I've also pasted a link to a seller.
