Automatic page turner
Here's a Rube Goldberg method of changing a page automatically;

This video is not working anymore...

OK. Since that was a you tube video I don't think our Magic John can do much about it.

Probably not the same video, but this working prototype is fairly Rube-ish in its own right.

And for a general overview of the technology curve behind the page-turner: http://www.diybookscanner.org

I've been lurking the edges of the digitizing community for a couple of years, they have been working on the page-turner hardware at least that long. My second book scanner build operates as planned [Build 1 was ... overbuilt]. :cool: The software to merge and post-process the page photos has finally made the jump to Mac-landia. Now all I need is time to turn my own dam' pages.... [And somewhere to queue boxes of books, sigh.]

Nice! Thanks Debbie! That's a pretty ingenious invention. I once heard that in the 1960's someone said "Everything that needs to be invented has already been invented." I don't think we will ever be able to say that.

Now, I just need to invent a machine that will turn the pages in my Kindle ebook reader and send the information to my brain by osmosis. LOL! And maybe for this website too - still in information overload mode!
