82 FC Chrome Bumpers

Well making the decision to get my bumpers redone was the easy part. Finding a chrome shop within a reasonable distance to do it is becoming the hard part. The suggestion to look for another set in good shape seems like it might be the best option. Does anyone know where I might find a set? Or have any better suggestions?

I had a bird owner tell me he had his done in Tenn.
$1200 each,but they are awesome.

Jack when I was considering getting my bumpers done there was a shop near Allentown that gave me a price. It was three or four years ago. They were near the airport if I remember correctly and I would have to find my notes on the name.

Thanks Randy. I'm looking for some place a little closer if I can to avoid shipping. $1200 wow. I guess that's about what it will cost.
Dan if you can remember the name of the place near Allentown that would be pretty close. I've been trying to get a quote from a company near Scranton named Reilly Finishing but they are somewhat unresponsive. I sent pictures and have called them 3 or 4 times but they just haven't gotten back to me.
When I Google chrome plating near Allentown I see Apollo Metals, Steel City Chromium and North Penn Polishing and Plating. Any of those ring a bell?

Got one blasted and powder coated for $350, the 'chrome' is close enough for me.

Mike, So they powder coated with a chrome finish? Do you have any pictures?

Had mine powder coated to match the brown bus.
Done in Florida.
Front and rear---$200.
They now have a powder coating that looks a lot like chrome but holds up better.

The bumper core was a bit rough, not nice enough to invest in real chrome. The powder coat is a bit darker, for the price difference, it's just fine.

Librandi's in Middletown did my front bumper "sections". (The PT has a 3-piece front bumper). They were around $300 per section. Work was well-done and has lasted 7 years with no flaking or pitting. Occasional rust spots pop up around the "dimples" for the bolt-heads, but overall I have been very happy with the results. I polish them once or twice a year. Here is their website- http://www.carchrome.com/
