A friend to the end.

With great sadness and tears in my eyes i want to tell you guys and gals that our friend and the driving force behind setting up the WOG forum has passed away.
John was found in his bed today, after dying in his sleep.
His buddys that he went to breakfast with went to check on him when he did not show up for breakfast.
You guys all know how important food was to John Finn!!

John ,well,John was John.
He traveled in his old FC and somehow or other he got up and went/did something everyday.
His health was terrible, but with a nap or two he would get er dun!

John built the WOG forum,he kept everyone honest,no swearing,no politics,no religion.
But in real life he went to church, swore like a sailor and was very political!
Plus he was Irish!
WE shared many a meal, and we worked on that old Bud bus for years, every winter.
He managed to make us all mad at some time or other but the next time dinner was served he was first in line.

John was my partner in the WOG rally, and he was the rally master at Birds at the Beach.
He turned the BatB over to Brian when his health got bad.
I went to Bonneville with John when he was racing his VW land speed racer there.

He was known to some here as Geezer,in a fond way.
Some called him the bulldog.

When we started the WOG forum he knew nothing about the program we use,he jumped in and with lots of swearing at me he figured it all out.
John was an Ambassador to Wanderlodge,he promoted the brand and the lifestyle for all the years he was involved.

John celebrated 2 birthdays every year (no,not because of the food)!
He had a kidney transplant long ago,he lived many, many years with the doner kidney.

He was a recovering alcoholic and drug addict,he helped several wog members overcome their addictions, possibly saving their lives.

He was my friend.
RIP John Finn!

This is very sad news. I did not know John well but he always offered helpful advice and he helped me out a time or two. The Finn's Inn was the most iconic bird at WOG.

Rest in Peace, John. Thanks for the lessons at Pine Mountain. I'll do my best to post a picture in your honor.

Wow, SO sorry! I never had the pleasure of meeting John in person. He was a driving force in WOG's success. He is in a better place driving his Bird with Buddy by his side. He will be missed by many. God Speed...http://a4.pbase.com/u40/iamflagman/l...YME2002VAN.jpg

John was a tough old goat with a heart of gold. For the years I knew him he struggled with difficult health issues but rose above it and always seemed to give way more than he took. He will be missed!

Rest in Peace Mr. Finn!
