NAPA has the hose , it is a wire wound Gates hose, NBH 800
It is high temp & will make 90 degree turns will not kink or collapse.. Usually comes in 3 foot & 10 foot sections. Expensive about $20.per foot,
so do not be surprised at near $400

Hi Dennis and Debbie,

We got our green stripe genny replacement hose from the local Parker Hannifin (www.parker.com) distributor. They have storefronts just about everywhere.

Good luck!!!

I bought a 10 ft run of that "Gold Plated" Gates hose last winter for my genny. Good stuff, but boy is it expensive!

None of my local NAPA stores had it in stock. They had to order it in.

It wasn't fun paying for it, and it sure wasn't fun installing it in the snow either!

Dennis- I was able to locate the hose at a parts warehouse servicing the dairy and farming industry. It is a marine grade exhaust hose which does not collapse or kink. On farms, it is frequently used for suction. Normal hoses would collapse, but this stuff has wire ribs in it and stays open.

Here is another good source for hose and other rubber products.

Check out the Novaflex marine grade exhaust hose products. I used NovaFlex 252 on the 3208 cooling system. Very happy with it. The price was in the $13/ft range from Good Year Products St. Petersburg, Fl. Central Ave Store. I initially tried using the NAPA Gold stripe hose for the swing radiator but it was not flexible enough. So I started looking around for alternatives that's when I came across the NovaFlex products. The difference in cost was a welcome surprise too.

Heater Hose Repair

I also had some problems with the generator heater hose. The problems started with one of the lines being too long and becoming abraded due to contact with the pavement. The second problem was the other hose became kinked and developed a leak that was only noticeable from the front of the generator. The third problem was noticed when I replaced the water pump, V-Belt and head gasket. The hose just below the water pump became soft due to exposure to oil and antifreeze. I found some thin wall stainless steel tubing to use as a splice and the tubing is a lot less per foot compared to the hose. The hose was in very good shape as compared to the areas that were subject abrasion and oil/anti freeze.
