Ebay only protects the buyer and NOT the seller, so file a return and refund and Ebay will make sure it happens.

Don't be too hasty... that replacement Alternator should be ok to use.

The I and R terminals are optional and don't need to be connected to anything unless the old Alternator used them.

The "R" terminal is referred to as the "Relay" terminal - its output is a pulsating DC voltage - often used as a tach signal.

The "I" terminal is often used for an "Indicator" light.

As a side note; my 91 WB uses the "I" terminal to watch for Alternator faults.

when i bought the new alternator for my LXI conversion the alternator shop told me the same thing John W just posted.

Sorry for the bad information. So just hook up the Bat and Grd terms like before and all should be good.
