Steer Tires

I need to purchase new steer tires for my 1978 FC 33. Michelin or Continental( as both are available for discounts through the FMCA)? Also I have read that I could increase from 7.5 in width to 8 in. tire width for better handling (as such). I am also thinking of eventually replacing my aluminum rims with steel. ANY help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Just out of curiosity, why replace the front wheels with steel? Steel are cheaper, but forged aluminum generally has higher load capacity.

After purchasing the bus in Ca and driving it back to Fl I had to fill the passenger front tire each morning w @ 20psi. A local tire dealer found a repaired crack in the rim. I was told by two different dealers they couldn't find a replacement. A rear aluminum rim was transferred to the front and replaced with a new steel rim. I just thought I might be able to replace the front ( not too shiny rims) with steel black powder coated rims which would last longer and not require the polishing of aluminum ( I'm lazy) and look a little Mad Maxish as well. I'm pretty weird. Named the Bird " BIPOLAR EXPRESS "

If you could put the appropriate size tires on your coach, I have 2 9 inch wide Alcoas, mirror polished for the front, hub piloted. You would need to check if they will fit on a stud piloted axle, for $400 for the pair. You would need to pay for the shipping and packing from CA.

I didn't know there was a difference between wheels. But after Randy's comment I went to YouTube and found this video which explains the difference.
