2004 M380 Cummins ISL 400 engine cooling control and dash AC problems
My dash AC is not working properly. Seems the hydraulic cooling fan does not activate everytime the AC compressor clutch engages. The freon pressure increases until it reaches the high pressure limit and shuts down the compressor until the pressures drop low enough for the compressor clutch to reenage. This short cycling prevents the vent discharge temp from dropping below the mid 50 degree F range. When the fan is running, vent discharge temp is around 40 degrees F. We need every degree we can squeeze out to stay cool down south.
I understand that Cummins has experienced other problems with their controller system in SOB coaches. Could my symptoms be a result of a control problem? Where is it located? Anyone have any other ideas to isolate the problem(s)? The techs that are working on the problem need your help. |
A/C pressure switch
Does anyone have the part number for the pressure switch located on the high side line near the engine A/C compressor..Thanks John

John, My AC pressure switch harness was bad. Could giggle it and compressor would come back on. Replaced it at Parliament last year. $56.

John, All I have is the number 6011 and I am sure it is a part number for parliament. Probably doesn't work for ordering a part...
