Would a 1983 FC35 work? Or too old?

Julian 02-14-2020 12:13 AM

Do you have an 1987 fc31 for sale?

max hendrix 02-14-2020 12:56 AM

Why does your signature say you are looking for SP31 but the thread title says you are looking for an FC ???

Two totally different animals. Some similarities but a lot of differences

Just wondering what you are really looking for.

I was speaking of my 83 FC35. I have just replaced it with the FC31.

(If you’re interested in considering)

1983 FC35SB 76k miles
Recent tires(Uniroyal Steers 1yr, drives 2yr)
Rebuilt steering system(pump/lg lines/fittings)can steer at a stop quietly
3x working cruisairs
Functional 12.5kw genset and rebuilt drawer air ram.
Replaced 4 front airbags
New fleetrunner belts and hoses 2 years ago.
New tensioner At the same time.
Zero oil leaks or drips anywhere.
Has ~50psi oil pressure when warm at idle
Rebuilt fridge cabinet area and sealed vent.

Haven’t listed it yet, needs some interior work in the bedroom, PO did a poor conversion from the original twins to a cross queen. I removed it entirely to check plumbing and replace the water heater with a new 20 gallon model with heat exchanger. I also checked the tank and planned to put a cal king bed in. But am thinking if I sell the new owner may have other preferences.

Bus is also optioned with both a regular oven and convection microwave. Working ice maker. Konstant hot, telma/Jacobs retarder, dual roof storage pods, Diamond plate on the roof... some of this is standard stuff. But it all varies so much.

Thats a rare bird indeed.
I don't think your going to find an FC with an Allison 5 speed, and maybe not with a 250 cat.

The SP came in any size you wanted ,as long as you wanted 36 feet.
And they were born from 1989-1992

The 1983 has a 225/250hp CAT turbo, with an Allison MT643. it does 65+ on the highway. and the MT is dead simple and pretty bulletproof compared to the later options. this one gets about 7.5-9mpg depending on my foot.

(the 225 cat is pretty similar to the 250. slight tuning differences torque and so on, according to the cat parts house guys there's no difference in performance, both are a big huge upgrade from the 210hp Naturally Aspirated models.)

At this moment, I have a sign in the window that has $27,500 on it. HOWEVER I'm very much open to reasonable offers as I have an overpopulated aviary :)

barring any crazy stuff going wrong though, It's is turnkey mechanically ready to drive anywhere.

If you'd like to contact me, my number is 760-713-614(eight)
