The Great Escape is for sale 1990 SP36
After long and painful deliberation, we have decided that our Bird is just too small for our full timing needs. Sharlene and I have made the decision that a large 5th wheel will be a better option. Anyone that saw our Bird at the Winstar Rally will agree tht this is a "turn-key" coach...not a "fixer-upper". The new owner of this coach will be buying a Bird that is ready to go with reliability. As most of you know, we purchased our Bird last August. Since then, we have driven it 4,000 trouble free miles in 10 states. Any potential buyer will have a thousand question but I will list a few pertinent details.

1990 SP36
96,498.9 Miles
2512.8 Hours
Interior is in Very Good condition (coach has Walnut in great condition)
Exterior is in Very Good condition
3208 Cat (turbo) This engine shows NO oil loss between oil changes
8k Onan Generator 1512.0 Hours (uses NO oil between changes...I change at 100 hours)
All 6 tires are NEW Firestone (tires were installed when we purchased in August)
Solar panels with controller and monitor (charge is around 9 amps/hr)
A/C units work well (even in Texas!)
Roof has NO leaks
Zip Dee awnings on all windows (7 total)
26" Flat Screen in living area
19 " Flat Screen in bedroom
Microwave/Convection Oven
Non Smoker / No pets

Photos can be seen at:

Asking price is 45,000 OBO

Feel free to call with additional questions. We are "night owls" so time zone issues should not be a problem!

OR you can buy my 90SP36 for $42000 listed at vintagebirds.com with 43,000 miles on it. This will give you something to compare. My bird has 2004 tyres and clear coat bubbles also. Comparing is good.

As a courtesy to a fellow WOG member and Bird owner, can we confine the chat in this thread to the sale of my Bird?:)

Heck Ken, I thought plastering my SP with OLD tyres would actually help you sell your SP. Yours sounds like it is in much better NICK than mine. Sorry if I offended you.

No offense taken, Hank.:) Just thought it was a little tacky using my "For Sale" post as a tag to sell yours!:)

Ken, don't take it personally. Hank has managed to insert his for sale ad into virtually every WOG thread. :o

Good luck to both of you on your sales.

Yup, its a tough market, so the more publicity/chatter you can get, the better.

Hard to sell something @ twice book. Hey.....I'm just the messenger and I know how difficult it can be to sell 2 grand transmission overhauls. Get into the $40k range and unless you find the right cash buyer, and I mean HAS the cash, tough to pimp the bank when the 'official numbers' are a stretch. Might help to find some comps on completed sales and how they were financed so prospective buyers might get a little guidence.

ALL of our SP's are worth TWICE BOOK! ...HEY....
