Looking to buy the 1992 WD40 in Lubbock TX
Hello Everyone,
I have been looking at Wanderlodges for awhile now and may have found the one I want, or at least a very good possibility. I am going to check it out on Monday. I have downloaded the checklist from vintagebird but wanted to know what everyone thought about it and the tires and batteries are around 4 years old. Will they need to be replaced soon? Also the owner said it will need a refrigerator. I appreciate any feedback and suggestions I can get. Thank you all for you time.

Welcome, the tires should be good, batteries need at least a load test..
Good Luck

I'd post a few more details. Someone may have looked at the bus recently.

I was also concerned about the cost and difficulty of replacing the refrigerator. My friend was telling me I may have to remove on side of the windshield, especially if i upgrade.

Up near the top of this page you will find a box
"Site search"
You can search for almost anything you can think of there.
The windshield vs door when installing a fidge has been talked about many times.
Samsung has been a popular fridge to go to.
so,search "samsung fridge install"
You can also use members names as keywords, once you get the hang of it you will know which owners post about their mods and take pics too.

Oh,and on the vintage birds check list, its a good one for sure, and covers everything in the world.
If you follow it for the whole inspection you will have a long day indeed.
And some of it may not apply to the coach your looking at.
So,being a "wanderlodge virgin" you may be over whelmed ,(to say the least).

Also search "compressor hose failure"
or "compressor hose replacement".

Search "tire dates"

And,if your concerned about the cost (and you should be) you should check on what the guys here say about the first year costs of owning a wanderlodge.
Not trying to scare you off,but the general rule here is to have $10,000 to spend on the first year.

This is not always true, but if the coach needs tires, batteries, compressor hoses your already into the $7000 range,if you buy middle of the road tires.
If the coach has good date code tires and good date code batteries, you just saved some money.
Ohh,if you put a house style fridge in,and you pay for the install, your up another $2000.
