Air intake for 6v92

I just noticed that the screen wire cover on my engine air intake is missing. Although I'd really like one of those fancy chrome ones right now the budget calls for me to fix what I have. I think it would be fairly easy to construct one out of hardware cloth (I think that is what you call it). I don't want to restrict the air flow, but I don't want it with holes large enough to admit undesirable stuff. What size "holes" should I look for. I'm thinking about 1/4". Suggestions?

Stick, Just go to Lowes or HD or your local Ace Hardware and buy some hardware cloth. That is most likely what was used originally or as close as you need to be. All your trying to do is keep out birds and debris and not restrict the airflow. This should do it.

Thanks. That's what I though.

Now, the rubber intake itself is damaged, probably beyond repair. I have to thread the needle getting under limbs and branches in the historical (histerical) district.

I need one. Thanks
