Boothbay, ME

We left Atlanta yesterday..heading for Boothbay, Me...with a stop in Boston on the way. HOT, HOT, HOT.....I did have some overheating issues going up I77 at fancy gap. It's a pretty good climb and did I say it was hot. Anyway pulled over for just a couple of minutes and she cooled right down. Being a flat lander I don't have much mountain driving experience so I'm sure some was my fault! Anyway..no real issues and continued on to Roanoke, Va Sams club for the night..it's still hot outside at 10pm so we ran the genny with the A/C running most of the night.
Heading toward Scranton......come on cooler temps!

Kip, Have a safe trip.

90F is pretty standard where we are from. Temps around Charlotte and Greensboro, where I'm heading today, are supposed to be 95-100+. We'll see how this old cat goes.

We are going up 81 through Syracuse and then across VT and NH. Stops in 1000 Islands NY and Grand Island VT. Been HOT in Lockhaven PA but suppose to cool off on Monday!

I got further than I thought I'd go today... but right now I'm parked behind Miller's Ale House in Wilkes Barr, PA. I was aiming for the cracker barrel.... but that changed quickly after parking!:D A cold draft and a burger after a day on the road just couldn't be passed up.
We've got a quiet site off to the side, hopefully it will cool some so I can shut down the genny.
Thanks to Shane I topped off at $2.75 at Sheets in VA and glad I did after seeing $3.50 and up here in PA. Does Pennsylvania know the oil embargo is over??? 55 MPH and expensive fuel!
I81 is a war zone going north. Lots and lots of traffic, trucks, cell phones and trash covering the road. And I thought I75 was bad!
I84 and 90 to Boston... says google...I'll be looking for a campsite tomorrow on the way, maybe near Hartford, CT if anyone has any suggestions.

Suggestions....... you mean except for the one that says, "Stay away from Boston!"

I checked freecampsites.net and there is a Cabelas complete with a pumpout.

Also, just did the drive from SC to ME. While it cooled slightly, it was hot and muggy, and is too up here on the midcoast. Fair winds!

Kip, take I-84 through Hartford, CT and into Mass. Then US-202 to MA-2 to go around greater Boston, pick up I-495 and continue north and east.

Kip, while we have a beautiful scenic state here in Pennsylvania road condition and fuel taxes are amongst the worst and the highest in the nation.

However we are very proud of our state bird “ Shane Fedelli” :D:D hope you had safe passage !
