Phoenix emissions testing.

Hi, has anyone had experience getting their coach emissions tested in Phoenix?
I’m interested specifically in the Cat c13 engine. Your comments or problems with this process are appreciated. All my current vehicles don’t require this at this time.

I had the Cat 3208.

I went to the 501 W Deer Valley Rd location the first time, I failed miserably because I didn't know the 3208 had a set screw adjustment on the fuel pump. The exist was a straight shot.

For the re-test, I went to the 5850 W Beverly Ln, Glendale, AZ 85306 location. Just get there early. Plenty of room to turn once in. PITA is grabbing the ticket from the security arm. Bring someone with you to grab the ticket. An employee or two will usually see you and help guide in. They run the VIN first. Make sure you know where it is. Next it's just a matter of mashing the throttle to bounce off rev limiter 2/3 times to verify emissions. As long the bus isn't spewing black exhaust, you'll be fine. There is a perimeter wall, I had to make a 20 point turn to leave. Two or three employee will ground guide. You may want to google map or scout your location.

Get it done sooner than later. After failing the first time, I had to run back to Vegas to renew plates $$. Waited until following year to re-test.

I forgot to mention: Unlike an automobile, your tail will hang out the back of test booth, not on rollers. The bus will be in neutral with brakes set. Not sure how they test with a stack, may need to ask an over the road owner/operator.
