No Water to Shower

Last fall I winterized my 88FC35 drained the system, blew it out, added the pink stuff & blew it out again till I had pink foam. Today in preparation to head to Murrells Inlet, SC, for the week I filled the tank with water, bled off what I thought was all the air in the plumbing; I got air then - water at every tap except for the shower. Water will not flow from the tub/shower when I pull the handle in the tub (Moen I’m told) but if I leave the water running in the vanity I get a trickle of water coming out at the tub. Dah, what gives? Can any one shed light on this, did I do something stupid, and I’ve checked everything I can think of, but no water to tub or shower, either by on-board water tank or through the water fill valve. Every place else work by both means, I just don’t have water in the tub. Fran said I can’t go a whole week without another shower. This will be my last time of winterizing; it will stay underground next year.

no water to shower

Hi John
The mixing valve in your Moen shower control has gotten stuck with minerals from water.
You need to take off the handle and the beauty plate and you will see a large nut, remove that and there is a piston that slides in a cylinder, remove the piston and dress it up withh emery cloth and do the same with the cylinder that it slides in.Reassemble with a very small bit of grease and your shower valve should be fine.

Hey John,

You have until Saturday night to fix that shower. Once a week is good. :D

That mixing valve is a standard house/bath fixture.
If the clean & lube does not work , HomeDepot or Lowe's has the cartridge, about $20.00. If the shower can wait another week, call Moen.
Still under warranty to the original owner, so the answer is "YES", ;)
I am the original owner of the faucet.... call 1-800-BUY-MOEN
The best lube is a plumbers water proof lube, I think it is silicone

Thanks guys, I check it out tonight, using free wifi from the Krystal parking lot in Murrells Inet. Huntington Beach State Park is great, thanks John for the suggestion, I'm in the John Finn Memorial site
