Metal shark makes a 21' boat for the military with a similar drive for running in the swamps. Closed cooling syatem so it doesn't use outside water for cooling. Will go on a wet sponge.

Water heater sensor

Our 1987 FC has a sensor that screws into the hot water outlet elbow. It has one wire on it and the screw that the wire goes on appears to also be the adjustment, I assume for the temp setting on it....

I agree with using flexible wire and moving the splices away from the flex area. Also anytime I have used heat shrink it also stiffened the wire appreciably.
