Don, my Hurricane also had a leak. I couldn't locate it so I took my heater out for bench testing (PIA!!). Turned out my leak was in the same hose as yours but it was the clamp as I recall.

If you take the unit out completely, change the brushes in the circulation pump motor. I've had to change mine twice. It can be done by removing the side panel but it is not easy. The first set were OEM brushes that cost about $60 for the pair. The next batch came from Grainger (p/n 1YNR3 6 pcs for $72).
