Hi Kip,
You don’t have to pull anything to check the number. The number is embossed on the metal base that the plastic sending unit/guage sits in. Just use some break clean and clean the right side of the base unit and then with a mirror or phone camera, get the number off the metal base at the 3 o’clock position. If you go to pull the four screws out of the base, you will be pulling the float out of the tank and you don’t need to do that.
