Default Did Bluebird Heavily Discount New Coaches?

Just wondering, it seems most new coaches are now discounted from retail anywhere from 20 - 30%. Did Bluebird do the same? Did they sell through a dealer network or straight from the factory?

I know they were sold through dealers. Mine came from Buddy Gregg.

There was a dealer network.. as far as I know.. mine was from Mitchell Olds Cadillac..
I am not sure about new discounting.. anyone on here buy one new?
That must have been something, strolling in to the Wanderlodge dealer.. I can only imagine.. I have not ever bought a new car let alone a motorhome....

Like any dealer I am sure they played games. My grandparents purchased their first BB (91 SP36) from a Wanderlodge dealer in NY. It was special ordered by a lady who had horses and planned to pull her horse trailer with it. She had put a deposit down on it, but when it showed up was unable to come up with the money to go forward with the transaction. As such the dealer really had to get rid of it because they were sitting on it. My grandparents happened to be in the market for it, and they made a deal. I am sure they were not the only ones something like that happened to. Funny continuation of that story, when they upgraded to their 94 WB 5 years later they ended up going to the same dealer to have their 91 sold on consignment. The same lady ended up purchasing it! I would love to know where it ended up .

I asked the question 14 years ago when making my first BB purchase, having gotten 2 SOBs at way under list. Back then there were a lot more owners who had purchased new, or were second owners, etc., and the consensus was that discounting was not at all typical in the Wanderlodge world.

These things were expensive new.
I found the Buddy Greg build sheet in the blue box in my coach.
Total price over 400k in 87.
Was a rich mans toy!
But with depreciation today many more are able to own them. Pretty cool.

We have the purchase sheet from Buddy Greg in Michigan in Nov 83. Was bought for $284,000 with no discount listed on the sheet.
No trade in listed.

They were sold through the dealer network for years but in the later years the factory did sell direct to the public with some serious discounts. Especially on a stale unit that for some reason just wasn't so desirable. They undercut dealers at the big RITV shows at Perry. I remember someone got in a tiff because a person got a better deal on a bird from the factory over his bird that he bought from a dealer.
