Slide LXi’s (at least mine) have two 2” X 6” steel tubes running from the front bulkhead behind the wheels to the rear bulkhead in front of the rear wheels. It is below the bay floor and is apparently to make up for cutting out the side panel for the slide.

Plus, the curved extrusion along the roll of the roof is massive, way more so that a non-slide coach, twice as heavy as a non-slide.

I have a copy of the of the M450 promo video showing and describing the construction process.

All bays and house portion are stainless steel and all welded. Those superstructures are welded to the 2 c-channel frame rails creating a stainless steel superstructure that is fully welded. I guess you could say that it is a unitized structure?

The front and back caps are fiberglass with the roof being made out of aluminum. The exterior panels are stainless steel that are bonded to the upper super structure frame rails.

The strength and integrity of the M450 is Bluebird through and through.

I am sure some of you have seen this, it’s in the archives, I uploaded to YouTube and it’s unlisted which means only those with the link can see it. I did this because I was not sure about rights issues..

Here is the video about the 450’s:

surprised to learn BB made their own slides for the 450. I just assumed it was HWH.
