I don't think I'd try that with a Bird but I would certainly attempt to get one off the road if needed.

I had a K5 Blazer and two Suburbans, all with the 6.2 Diesel. I always wanted a 6.5 Diesel, so... I'm officially jealous.

Had my 82 Burban for 300k 6.2 bought it for $3500 sold for $2500
Biggest bang for the buck
Loved it
I have been flat towing my full size f150 4x4 no problems
But i think I’m moving to a trailer
More storage room and I can back up
Seem like I bring more and more tools
Just got to have the mig welder and work bench with vice
Pretty soon I’ll never need to come home

We're a small group. Had an '88 Blazer with a 6.2 diesel. That thing never let me down. My wife's 2015 suburban stranded us 3 times...

Recently sold my blazer... I probably should have kept it.

A little off topic, but we had 6.2 and 6.5 Suburbans for decades. The 6.5 is not what I would call a reliable engine and that is someone that has owned British cars with Lucas components for 40+ years.

Back on topic, about a year ago we bought a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee Quadra Drive II with the Mercedes OM642 Diesel. It was from another Wogger and set up with tow bar base plates, ready to tow. No it's not a Wrangler, but we like having a hard top and the storage space. Anyway it tows great with no issues.

Carol had a 95 2500 suburban with the 6.5.
300,000 miles and not a hickup.
i did moved the driver into the air cleaner box so it had a constant supply of cool air going over it.
Nice truck until the paint just decided to leave one day,no kidding the hood and the roof had the paint all blow off in one day, thats when we sold it.

I had a 1990 2500 4WD 6.2 i drove for a long time,a rusty POS that came out of Pa.
It ran good, was just rusty, paid $400 for it and when the injector pump went bad i sold it for $400.

I'm lucky, I have a couple of options. I love my Jeep JL, but have yet to tow it. It only has 5K miles on it and I just can't bring myself to tow it behind the bus yet. I will soon though. I do love my Chevy Silverado HD 3/4T. I have a snow plow mount for it which marries up perfectly to my tow bar. So in the winter I plow snow and the rest of the time I tow it. It has a 6.6 Duramax with a Banks chip in it and it goes like h**l. I like towing the truck because I can load up my golf cart and take it with us, or just haul a lot of extra stuff for sale at rallies, or buy a bunch of stuff and bring it home. Lots of options.

We've had a bunch of 6.2s and 6.5s. They don't give many problems if you treat them right. I've got the new to me Sub @ 123K miles and a SRW K3500 Crew Cab (hard to find) with 300K miles. I'm hoping they last me the rest of my life.

We tow a 14 Equinox. Like the size and utility. Would love a Wrangler but we are short and would have issues getting in and out of one with 35's or 37's plus the Nox has a couple of dings that don't bother me. We could pull our 22 High Country but it's too nice for road rash.

Great that the push plates also line up with your tow bar.

I do worry about towing something "too nice".
