Default Finally got a real toad

A good salesman knows when to make his move. Mike H. struck well and true when he saw what I was struggling with. Seasoned the pot with an Olds diesel and I became his next victim. In the best way possible .

Got me a ready-to-go toad today. Flew to Milwaukee, took a Lyft to our good buddy Mike H. and made a deal on a 1980 Chevrolet C-10 Scottsdale 350 Olds Diesel/TH350, complete with a Remco driveshaft disconnect, properly made 1-piece (formerly 2-piece) driveshaft, and all the Blue Ox tow bar stuff to go along with it.

Truck ran like a Swiss watch from Milwaukee to Ypisilanti. Easy on fuel, good power, smooth, shifted well, didn't use a drop of oil or coolant. Even the Delco radio pulled in all the good stations. Trans shifted like butter. Cruises at 75 MPH like it was born to do that. What else would you expect? A deal well done IMHO. Another satisfied customer!

Buyer was OK too. Kris and I used to communicate on the old Delphi Olds Diesel forum, got re-reacquainted when he purchased his FC and got on WOG.

Spread Bird Fever too. Dug up the email where you set the hook on that adventure too. January 2013. Only took me another 11 years to actualize that one. In that same email, I cited a desire to acquire an '80 C-10 with an Olds 350. Patience in this arena paid off.

Nice. Kris, you are going to make my son's year when he sees an FC towing a matching squarebody with a diesel.

Happy to help. A child's joy over seeing his toys on parade is a wonderful sight to behold. Those are the memories worth tucking away . I helped my neighbors move some rock with my little blue tractor. Grandpa set the little one behind the wheel after the work (key in my pocket). Giggling and smiling the whole way - boys and their toys .

He got to pick one toy at the flywheelers flea market in January and out of many hundreds at the various booths we visited this was the choice. He chose an IH Travelette for his little brother.
