Default New used Jeep toad, how to tow?

What baseplates, bumpers, towbars are you all using for your Jeeps?

2021 4 door.

Might put a winch bumper on, can you use towbar on the shackle mounts?

If it’s like my Rubicon that is a automatic transmission. To flat tow I put the transfer case in neutral and the transmission in park. Check your owners manual. Yours could be different. I am using Blue Ox.

I'm using a RockHard Bumper. It's approved for towing. Most aftermarket bumpers are not. Pricey.... but works well.

I’m using Roadmaster. I like the idea of using an approved bumper. But with a lifted Jeep it becomes hard to keep the tow bar in the recommended range of being level + - 3 inches. I already have to use a riser hitch. I just mention this so you can look at the total package to make it all work.

Sorry about the picture

Towing with Blue Ox 10,000lbs rated. Had to buy different ends to attach to Blue Ox, easy switch, now hook directly to bumper.
Will have to install battery tender, it drains our battery with the RVibrake.

Rockhard 4x4 aluminum midwidth. "Approved" to be flat towed, one of three or four companies that will say that. Aluminum and American Made. The aluminum makes it lighter than the plastic bumper. Try to find a jeep show where they are a vendor- they give a nice discount if you buy direct from them. They sold me my bumper, Warn winch, and their proprietary tow tabs shipped to my house, for just about 2K. Prices have gone up.

Right now I use a Blue Ox brake, but I would absolutely go for an M&G system. The Blue Ox just doesn't sit well on the floor. I had buy a bar to go across the front of the seat base so it would have sometime to push on. To keep the battery topped off, I have a 10a marine charger wired into my dual battery setup.

For lights, I have a harness from Cooltech LLC that splices into the jeep harness. I'm not sure I would go this route again- I think there might be easier ways, but it was what Rockhard 4x4 recommended.

I didn't want the towbar hanging under the bumper. I had both a Blue Ox and then a bumper mount on my TJ's. They both worked equally well.

Marvin I used the RVi in my TJ and now my JL. It sits on the floor well and I have had no issues with battery drain

Hey Doug I have a picture of my TJ somewhere that looks almost the same....upside down

Oh Now I see Chris already posted it!

Thanks for the links! Thinking of a new bumper, we get plenty of deer hits and nice metal bumper would pay for itself.
