Mobley Update:
Watch this!

Great vid about this issue.
I purchased a Netgear Nighthawk and tried to move the SIM from my Mobly to the new device. I had the SIM Pin Lock issue described in the above vid.
You need to call ATT and get your PUK Codes (both of them) for your SIM. Even if you dont plan to move your SIM you need to get the code while you still can. I got mine and was able to move the SIM to the netgear device.

My issue with the Mobley was that it will only give out 5 IP addresses. I have 7 devices in my bus that need an IP address. The Nighthawk will give out 15. I never had an issue with the device other than that. It was just a pain to have to shut stuff down and then reboot Mobley to free up an IP address. My devices dont all use data at the same time but they do want an address.

And when you get it unlocked, set your own pin so its not a default that updates can easily use.

Which one of the Nighthawk units did you get Randy?

I just noticed that the 'no timeout' option is missing after the last update...
2 hours is all you get...

Thats a bummer ;{

Does the Netgear have the no timeout option?

Mine updated when the rest of them did. 2 hours is the max but mine hasn't shut off yet. Thoughts are either my plug supplies more than 12.6 volts so the mobley thinks it is on a running car or my setting stayed at never even though that choice dissappeared (until I change and save a setting) or ATT hasn't applied the actual code to shut the unit off after 2 hours.

Discussion of this starts at the bottom of page 415 here...
https://www.howardforums.com/showthr...0!!!!!/page415

There's later discussion on the SIM being locked with a new pin when you try to use it in a device other than the Mobley and how to solve this.

Get your PUKs.

Keep your Mobley handy.

I think that the 2-hour shutdown may be a when-in-a-mobley-only thing. My mobile access point using the Mobley SIM does not have such options, only a "sleep mode" from inactivity of 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, or "never sleeps."

Are any of the "upgraded systems" portable? We move the mobley from car to RV and occasionally home or work.

Disregard last. I assumed the upgraded hardware was fixed because of antennas and ports. I see the netgear is still portable, just better.

The little mobile unit I have has a battery that allows it to operate about 24 hours without being plugged in. I drop it in my pocket or put it in the car routinely.
