Default Porch light

Years ago I converted my porch lights to the LED strips. I found they only lasted a couple years before most of the LEDs did not work. I did buy the cheap strips from ebay, and they have worked well inside the bus.
Then after i got tired of replacing the strips, I installed 12v light sockets and put LED bulbs in the porch lights. I have had it that way for a few years, but they are not that bright.
I had two white reverse LEDs extra from my recent project. I installed a rubber grommet, drilled 4 holes for the zip ties, installed the lights. They are much brighter, waterproof. I think they will be okay.
I installed a led switch with a light in it, so I know when the porch light is on, I did this a few years ago. Makes it easier to find at bed time.

Nice!

I like the idea of the LED lite on the switch...too often I go to bed forgetting to switch the outside lights off; that little reminder will help me remember, as my last task before bed is to switch all the interior lights off.

At present I have the "overseas special" cheap LED's, actually encased in a florescent-style housing. Been OK about 8 months, it'll be interesting to see how long they last...

Vary nice Peter.. I too really like the led light switch, Id like to know what it is and where one could find them :-). I am forever fumbling with the entry switches on the way in or the way out. Seems I have to cycle though them all before I find the correct one.

Don’t know if your coach uses the same style switches. Because my awning light is placed on the upper left corner of the cluster, I never have a problem finding it in the dark. So I used a standard non-lighted switch on that LED Awning strip project: https://www.wanderlodgeownersgroup.c...t=30139&page=3 (posts 22 & 23). However, the non-lighted switch would be simple and cheap to changeout to a lighted-when-on version: https://www.alliedelec.com/product/e...r11e/70155744/

For the porch and left rear utility hookup lights, I changed each to a pair of these LED “bulbs” and have had no problems. They are almost too bright so now use the softer awning light strip most of the time: Ming's Mark Green LongLife 3528102 LED 12-inch Replacement Light Tube with T5 base 300 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B006E4KG5U..._v-bLCb8QM0MY4
