Default Rust and crusty

My fridge shelves are nasty and momma doesn’t like it. Does everyone have this problem? Has anyone tried blasting them and then powdercoat them?

I powder coated the racks in my 78 fridge, white. They turned out great. I was very pleased, made the inside of the fridge look great.
