This isn't something on my long list of stuff for my bird, but could something like this be tied in to the current chassis heat that uses engine coolant? I like my chassis heat a lot when driving, BUT it scares me knowing it could spring a leak and cost me an engine...
Could this be used to replace the engine as the heat source and use instead of propane for stationary heat?

James, that is precisely how the system got changed in later years when Wanderlodge folks added the Aquahot into the systems on larger coaches.

Maintained a short engine loop to provide either engine pre-heat or reverse, provide heat to the hydronic system by the engine as traveling.

Eliminated the electric inefficient water heater with the continuous hot water on demand at 1.5 gals/min that the Oasis and Aquahot have and then allowed the heating of the coach in up to 5 zones, thermostat driven that are not tied into the engine. They closed loop within the hydronic heater with dedicated pumps for each zone.

On top of it, the Oasis has dual 1500w electric heaters that each run on a AC leg and heat up the coolant in the reservoir within the system and saving you diesel fuel when parked and hooked up to power.

An FC35 is rather small for a system like this. You could look into adding a Webasto Scholastic DBW2010 that is practically the main burner system for the Aquahot system (without the larger capacity dedicated internal coolant tank pumps and controller).....and heat up the coach with the Webasto 2010 eliminating the tie into the engine coolant all together...downside is using more fuel and it would run on diesel even when you go down the road because the antifreeze in the loop is not heated by the engine anymore....even the 2010 is tied into the engine loop on school buses but it is not mandatory.
