Default Fuse resistance table

As promised at my WOG tech session, please find attached the fuse resistance table. Yes, I'll do a tech session again next year.

I know I'm going to regret asking...

What conversation took place that now have people asking about fuse resistance? This is sounding like one of my old electronic tests back in the early 80's.

I gave a presentation on general electrical topics. One topic that arose was that these fuses have access to the contacts from the back (exposed) side and that if you measure the voltage across the fuse and know the resistance you can easily calculate the current in that circuit. I had handouts but not enough and there was a request for copies. I initially proposed that people email me for a copy but a request was made that I post it in the electrical section. I did.

I see, so the thought is to use the internal resistance of a fuse to calculate amp draw. Using the fuse as a shunt to measure current it highly inaccurate. So when using this method just know that your results are ball park figures.

Shunts are calibrated to precise resistances, then accurately measured to provide very accurate results; fuses are not. In fact, if you use this method and the fuse blows it could damage cheaper meters when your millivolt readings suddenly become full battery voltage.

But it is a cleaver way to get a quick picture of what's happening.
Just an observation.
