Default Battery tray question

My bus has 4 -4D batteries in the battery compartment below the chargers. In the engine compartment under the engine batterys is another tray. Does anyone know if this tray was intented to be another battery tray. I have read some threads where people say they have 6 - 4D's but didn't know if they have a different configuration than I have on a 95 PT42. Does anyone out there use this tray for batteries???

The specs for a 95 42 state 6 4D gel batteries as standard equipment. Mine has 2 on that lower shelf, with 6 under the inverters (chargers) and 3 chassis batteries.

This is good to know. I wasnt sure since it was not as heavily reinforced as the other two trays. Was thinking about putting some batteries there but was not sure.

Thanks again

I have two trays with 4 batteries per tray. Tommy "White Hat Guy" has 12 I think. He has another tray somewhere.
