Well Dave as they say Misère Loves Company We need to order the repair kit then at the Rally get them repaired . To be honest I think if anyone has had the habit of using the lock as the way to keep the awning locked might also want to replace the lock cause eventually it will fail .

I would be interested in some maintenance instruction too. I need to adjust the spring tension on mine as it doesn't want to roll anymore without a lot of assistance.

Bruce, As long as your spring is still good that is not to difficult . We would need to free up the left arm with rafter still attached and just wind it tight . My issue is the reverse . I need to unwind to replace the Z lock .

Mine was hard enough to pull out that the strap broke off...I just got a new strap from ZipDee, but, I do need to look at the root of the problem...seminar time...

Sounds like a "Two ladders and two six-packs" job for the audience to watch.

I found that if I could get the awning out about 3 feet to two equal height ladders, with two friends to secure the awning while I work on the front spring end, it goes pretty smoothly. I have done it alone, but I strapped the rear end to it's ladder before I drilled out the rivets in the front end resting on another ladder.

Bob , We should be in luck as there is a Brewery in nearby La Grange . I can fill up a few Growlers to celebrate our successes

Of course, if the audience gets too big, a keg might be required, then the requisite pizza order........... but I am sure there are enough "experts" to manage that party/repair!! :

Ya'll have fun!
