Default Oiled cooled Alternator Bearing Seal Replacement

Has anyone had to replace the oil seal just behind the pulley on the alternator? If so, how hard is it pull the pulley and replace the seal. Mine is leaking oil and I would like to get it taken car of before it gets any worse. Any advice you may have will be helpful. Stephen Birtles told me to consider replacing it with and air cooled model but that's just not in the budget right now.

David,

I replaced the seal on my '95. Easy job. I had Parliament do it. On the '00 there is a structural beam in the way, so the alternator has to be moved back/turned to get the pulley and seal off/on. More difficult, but not bad.

someone makes a new housing for the seal, machined steel (not cast iron)and comes with a seal and gasket, not hard to do except as Ron pointed out..
I forget who makes the kit,and it was priced fairly.
maybe Kirks automotive?
