Thank for the call. I am waiting for the shop boss to get done his lunch. I sent him that link too. I'll get this. No excuses. Thanks for the learning. See what the shop boss says. I get home in a week. I might put it in storage, stick a solar charger on it turn off the masters and and order that kit. I will ask the shop to switch off the house and chassis battery switches when they stick it out back. Drive it on the genny to storage,

Got a call. It is an air cooled Delco. This is on a Cummins so that explains it. This is what I just got. I asked to keep the core. Waiting on answer that now.

First email was, ' alternator currently in it is a 12V with part # A0014871JB at 270 Amps'.

Second email was, 'Mr Rasmussen, the alternator is at $ 1,219.26 plus freight and labor at $ 159.00.

I told them to do it. Right now its the easiest thing I can do being out of town and away from the coach. I do want the core to see if I can rebuild it and carry it for a spare.

Your coach your call but that is twice or more what it should be and the labor is .5 hours. Plus freight? are they kidding? Parts stores in town should have the part you need unless they are buying from Blue Bird which is a waste of your $.

Default Too much $$$$

I know. I can do it ($) right now. Come the day I can't, I will pull the wrench out. I am out of town to boot. I just as soon get it done with. I am hoping to get the core to see whats with it and perhaps fix it for a spare.

Hutchinson auto electric in Riverview about an hour north of you can rebuild your DN50 like new. They are on 41 a mile south of 60. They did a great job on mine 4 years ago. Still running strong. About $500 if I remember correctly. You got to spend that money wisely with these things or they cost you two fortunes.
Good luck
Dan
