Well we are going to start with new plugs and wires and a freshly cleaned distributor and see how she runs. I want the engine pulled and resealed but he wants to start with this.

Default Sparkplugs, manufacture E3

Hi,
A big part of our world up here in Alaska, involves the oil production “north slope”.
Now up there, are a lot of generators running 24/7.
A “newer” type of sparkplug is really making a difference up there. Lasting way,way longer than any others. Companies are buying E3 sparkplugs $200-500 from NAPA at a time.
I run them in everything I own, happy camper.
On their website you can find the plug for your application, this link should be your 3.0 engine.
They are like $5.00 each.

Well the new plugs and wires made her finally come to life and roar like the lion she is.

But naturally the story doesn't end there. When we shut her off and tried to re-crank her. She refused. The coil isn't getting any power to it for some reason. Ugh!

Where are you going? Coffee or potty break? Or are you calling Japan to get the answer?

Well yes, after we did a correct tune -up, she was a far more lively, but still had a miss. We did compression check on her today and #3 cylinder is dead.

So now we need to decide if:
1. We should just fix the 207,000 3.0 and keep on rolling?
or
2. Bite the bullet and get a 3.4 and do the engine swap?
