Thanks guys, Good tips to remember.
Sorry, I have been away from here, been busy rebuilding the 4Runner.
She is almost finished. Just tidying up the odds and ends at this point.
Quite a bit of fabrication took place getting those headers into position and in working order, but he finally got it.
I should hopefully be driving it by the weekend.

Default Header progress

Here's some pics I took of our progress over the weekend.

This is the passenger side where there originally was only a crossover manifold and now we have headers. See the need for some heat wrap and modification?
BTW, this is the a/c line that is basically touching the header.

So We then re-purposed an old BMW heat shield and beat it into shape.

And this is basically what it looked like in place, shielding all those lines.

And this is the last picture I took before going home to bed for the night so I could be back at this dump for another 12hrs.
I put some of my left over heat shield on the underside of the hood, just because. He finished up some more after I went home. He didn't get home til after midnight. Had to fabricate some ports for the ERG and O2 sensor.

As always, click the pictures to see the bigger version.

OK we tried out the Blue Ox on the 4Runner today and it looks like it will work!

Here is it connected to the 2 tow hooks on the front chassis.

Attachment 62416

And here is a closer pic of the connection.

And this is with the post sitting at bus ride height.

BadAndy, I cannot take credit for the lines in the upholstery, it was like that when we found it.
Only wish it was that clean and unmolested mechanically speaking.

Engine is back in and most of the time she runs great...for a 3.slow. But now she has this intermitting stutter, drag then stall. Ordered a new Toyota cap and rotor and it will be here Tuesday. Also ordered a new Denso fuel pump, here also Tuesday. Already put on the Toyota new fuel filter. There is a gremlin still afoot, but we will find it and correct it.
