Default Camping solo :(

So my family's annual reunion is in a few weeks and I am finally able to stay for the whole weekend since we now have a functioning bus! YEAH! It's in North Lake Estates RV Park.

Here comes the downer.....my dear hubby now has a race in Daytona he must attend with his boss that falls on that weekend. UGH!

So now I have to either cancel my reunion attendance and go racing or attempt to drive and park the bus all by myself and go solo to the reunion.

The only really hairy part of the trip is backing it down the street to get it into the spot they assigned me.

I had to back a school bus down the entire length of a road once.
I had turned down this street thinking it was a cul-de-sac. Turns out, it just dead ended at Long Island Sound.
If a nervous wreck of a guy like me can do it, you can certainly do it!

Thanks, this "road" is only one lane and lined with little fences and trees...no wiggle or wander room.Thankfully it's only past 4 sites, just hope I don't damage any one or anything in the process.

I say go for it. Take your SO to a empty parking lot get a little practice it may make you more comfortable. The amount you work on that coach I think you should be able to get out and enjoy the thing whenever you want solo or not.
I’m sure all of us have been in tight spots, just get out there do it.

Excellent idea! Not really sure why that thought didn't occur to me....I must be slippin.

Maybe I'll practice backing it up and down my dead end street?

I just never thought of traveling in the bus solo....it was always meant to be a "we" bus...not and "I" bus.

Naah, the "oh I just thought" moments are normal.

Street is great to practice straight, arrange extra room to practice backing curves. I had good and patient coaching [Thanks, Steve and Ed!] and real-time practice [Eeek! Shrubbery!!], but the first time I absolutely HAD to park it in one go - and BY MYSELF - I pulled it off. [Audience of construction workers, vs. all your kin watching, heh.]

Always meant to be the one driving mine, but yeah, solo is undeniably extra work....

Thanks Debbie. I got a giggle out of your imagery. I know I can do it, but it's still not what I had planned and I will be a nervous wreck, undoubtedly.

Caols sister had an 84 FC,she traveled solo all the time, from Fl to Ca. one time, for some reason?
Carol and her sister drove the FC to New York for something, can't remember what.
Back when we had the rally in the valley they would have a womens driving course, and a womens driving rodeo.
Carol or her sister won it every year, and on the year Carol didn't win,she came in 2nd!
Of course they had a good teacher! hahahaa!
One year at WOG we had 4-5 single women drivers there, darned impressive!
You go girls!

i vote for the race track every time ;-) but that's just me.
I think YOU CAN DO IT! Little practice and you'll be fine in no time.

Just remember, when in doubt, get out!
