Default Generator won't start/run

We have a 96 WLWB with a 15k Powertech/Kubota generator. Earlier this summer it worked just fine.
When I went to start it recently, the start stop switch did nothing. There are 4 places to start the genny, bedroom, kitchen, driver's overhead, and genny fan compartment. Same result each place. No orange light in the prestart mode.
It seems as if there is no power to the generator circuit at all. Batteries (house & chassis) are all newer and have a full charge. I reset the breaker on the side of the genny.
The wiring schematic shows a generator actuator relay at SK37 in the front lower compartment. In the front outside electrical area, there is a Bosch relay with a 37 on it, but there is no power to it. I don't know where that comes from.
Any suggestions?
Thank you.

Is it possible that a cable was left off when installing the batteries ?

Thought about that, but it ran quite a bit after the battery change-out. House batteries changed last November, chassis batteries changed in April this year. Maybe the ground cable jiggled loose and is not making good contact. That is the next thing to check.

You mention house and chassis batteries. Is there a separate generator battery possibly?

I don't believe so. If there is it hasn't been changed out in the 10 years that we have owned the coach. Also, I have no idea where it would be hidden. The positive battery cable to the starter runs back along the right side of the
generator and continues back as far as I am able to see.

If the genny has an alternator on it it will have a battery.
The battery will be in the genny radiator bay, beside the radiator.

No alternator on the genny, and no battery in the blower compartment. I replaced the blower motor a couple years ago and cleaned the compartment fairly well. No battery anywhere in there.

Hi Bill,

My first check would to be to see if you have 12 volts on the 1/0 wire on the generator’s starter solenoid. That should let you know if it’s a voltage supply problem or a generator start circuit problem.

It looks to me like the power (for the generator on a 96 without a separate generator battery) would have to come through the coach battery disconnect switch, go through a few shunt connections in the engine bay, go to a hot stud and then run up front to the generator fan compartment via a 1/0 Red wire to a fuseable link (a short piece of 6 Ga. Red wire) and then continue on to the starter solenoid.

Once you know whether or not the generator is getting 12 volts at the starter solenoid, you can focus your troubleshooting on the proper area.

Hi, John:
Thanks for the direction.
There is voltage (13.7) at the generator starter solenoid. I wasn't sure at the start, had difficulty finding a good ground for my Fluke. So it is the starter circuit. I believe there is a solenoid that stops the generator. Could that be stuck? Where should I look next?

If you have good voltage, you may not have a good ground.
Thees a ground cable that has been known to break that is located next to one of the motor mounts, the motor moves and the cable breaks from the movement.
