I think these specs are accurate but it’s been several years since I researched them:

1991 Wanderlodge SP - 3208 Caterpillar Engine Specifications:
636 Cubic Inches
300 Hp @ 2800 RPM
750 LB-FT @ 1400 RPM

1983 Detroit Diesel 6V92 Silver Engine Specifications:
552 Cubic Inches
330 Hp @ 2100 RPM
963 LB-FT @ 1200 RPM

1995 Wanderlodge – Detroit Diesel 8V92 Engine Specifications:
736 Cubic Inches
500 Hp @ 2100 RPM
1425 LB-FT @ 1300 RPM

1999 Wanderlodge – Detroit Diesel S60 Engine Specifications:
778 Cubic Inches
500 Hp @ 2100 RPM
1450 LB-FT @ 1200 RPM
Great info John, Thanks!
I had not realized the specs on the 8v92 and the Series 60 were so close, at least in the 500hp version. Of course I like both of them.. hmm that makes a decision for an upgrade harder.. I like the 2 stroke sound and love the series 60 as well.

How bout a little Cummins love. I wasn't going to barge in on the Detroit club, but it kept going.
Cummins ISM, 661CI, 500HP, Torque=1550 ft lbs @ 1200 RPM
It's not a show stopper like the LXIs Detroit's, but it can haul the mail. All 25 tons of it +/-

I suppose Chris.. lol just kidding. Yea that is pretty close in characteristic to the series 60 and 8v92. One day I would like to drive one of each. I have only driven 2 strokes so far..Have not had the pleasure of driving a series 60 or Cummins.

Default Turbine Mack

Side topic bump back a few pages... Moderators, please move to a new thread if necessary.

Here's a link to a discussion about them.

But what you REALLY want is a Honeywell AGT1500! Engine output peaks at 1,500 hp (1,120 kW), with 2768 lb-ft (3754 N-m) of torque at that peak, which occurs at 3,000 rpm. Maximum torque of 3950 lb-ft (5355 N-m) is reached at 1,000 rpm. (per Wikipedia). That makes a 60+ ton M1 Abrams move fairly quickly. Of course, the engine/trans package would cost WAY more than the rest of the Bird.
